For students who want to anchor their astrological knowledge in a well-rounded series of courses that: 1) grow their practical skills, 2) provide a broader understanding of astrology's history, and 3) expand their understanding of the philosophies that lead to different types of practice, there is a recommended path of courses. 

It will take approximately 3-4 years to complet this series of courses if students take a single class each term. ISAR and NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) lets students who have completed the this program to take Professional level exams without needing to take the previous exams. Kepler acknowledges the student's who complete this series with a badge for a Professional Diploma in Astrology.

The Professional Diploma in Astrology (KPDA)

This Diploma is designed for anyone who wants a broad overview of the history of astrology, its controversies, the links between astrology, astronomy and other fields, and various ways astrology has been and is being practiced. 

Students take 130 weeks of instruction. 60 weeks are focused on the Fundamentals of natal astrology and predictive techniques. All courses below are 10 weeks unless otherwise noted.

    • W102 Fundamentals II: Alternate Tools for Interpretation
    • W103 Fundamentals III: Building Delineation Skills
    • W104 Fundamentals IV: Practicum in Natal Chart Delineation
  • Movement in Natal Astrology
    • W110 Fundamentals V: Predicting Life Circumstances
    • W111A (5 weeks) Fundamentals VI: Advanced Predictive Techniques 
    • W112A (5 weeks) Rectification Basics or W113A (5 weeks) Movement Practicum
  • Chart Calculation
    • M100 Chart Mechanics
  • V100A Crash Course in Vedic Astrology (5 weeks) or V101A (5 weeks) Introduction to Indian Astrology
  • WR201 Counseling Issues in Astrology. This course introduces the basic issues involved in interpreting a chart for someone else, as well as exploring ethical considerations.
  • E300 or both E301a and E301b Astrological Heritage. Astrology has a rich heritage that is most often neglected in history books. This course corrects this oversight and gives the student a deeper understanding of astrology's roots by providing a 3,000-year overview.
  • E400 Astronomy for Astrologers. Astrology does not exist without astronomy. This course gives the astrologer a solid understanding of the solar system and the linkages between astronomy and astrology.  
  • Electives - an additional 25 weeks or equivalent* in applied astrology  
  • Final Demonstration of Learning. This can be satisfied by an article or research project for publication or a community webinar presentation prepared with input from a Certificate instructor and critiqued.

*Or Equivalent means a series of workshops on interconnected topics which places focused material in context; presents alternate perspectives; requires demonstration of student competency; includes at least 10 hours of live student interaction plus additional online discussion forums, quizzes, assignments and/or emails. Applying an External Course to this Series

Students can petition to apply a course they have taken from another school to the electives, history or astronomy courses required for this series. The course must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 20 hours auditory or live instruction
  • Must have assigned readings
  • Must have written homework
  • Must cover the historical and philosophical underpinnings of the content presented
  • Must have regular feedback and a final evaluation process that tests the student’s knowledge

Students must provide written proof of successful course completion.

Advanced Professional Diploma in Astrology (KAPDA)

The Advanced Professional Diploma offers students a chance to further develop a breadth of knowledge. It consists of the equivalent of six 10-week courses plus a demonstration of professional growth. This Diploma gives the student the opportunity to build skills in three ways: (1) expansion of knowledge about astrology’s development, (2) further development of astrological skills, (3) demonstration of knowledge.

Pre-requisite: Completion of basic diploma, or demonstration of knowledge and permission of administration

The Advanced Professional Diploma offers students a chance to further develop a breadth of knowledge.

Required: 60 weeks of additional courses (a mix of 5 or 10-week courses). NOTE: Independent study in a specific area of astrology can be substituted for up to 20 weeks

  • At least 5 weeks in business and/or marketing for professional practice
  • At least 10 weeks in History, Literature or the Arts and astrology
  • At least 10 weeks in Philosophy as applied to astrology: systems theory, Vedic philosophy, Western philosophy, or Esoteric philosophy.
  • At least 10 weeks in practical application
  • Up to 20 additional weeks of electives
  • 5 weeks of advanced practicum/mentorship for professional practice
  • Final Demonstration of Learning pre-approved and critiqued by a committee of designated faculty members. Examples:
    • Publication of a non-opinion or straight expository written article or video presentation (YouTube, Vimeo or other provider)
    • Recording of a speaking engagement at a conference
    • Presentation of a Kepler webinar
    • Facilitator for a Kepler study group
    • Or other tangible demonstration of learning
