In W111A, East meets West and Traditional meets Modern with an introduction to the wide range of movement traditions currently used in astrology.

Instructor: Carol Tebbs
10-week course

Beyond the movement basics of W110 (transits, directions, and progressions), W111A introduces the solar return, midpoints, and the 90-degree dial to unfold the promise of the natal chart, as well as using movement in a larger context in electing a good time for an event and seeing the world with mundane predictive techniques like the Aries ingress and the synodic cycles of outer planets.

W111A continues the examination of the development of modern Western interpretive movement methods based upon planetary cycles, natural phenomena, and symbolic interpretive tools from the 16th to the 21st centuries.

Required texts can be found under the section for Moving the Chart in Time in https://keplercollege.org/index.php/required-books-for-courses
Prerequisite: A working knowledge of the fundamentals of natal interpretation and synthesis as well as the W110 movement methods.

Learn how to prioritize events to better evaluate the expression of transits, secondary progressions, and eclipses.

5-Week Course
Instructor: Linea Van Horn
Prerequisite: This class is designed for intermediate to advanced students. Some knowledge of transits and progressions is beneficial.

In this 5-week intensive class, the student will develop a list of well-timed events of their lives. This will include not just chronological occurrences but longer, more subtle themes, too. Then, using the natal chart, the student will view this life story through the lens of astrological transits, secondary progressions, and eclipses. Personalized lists will be provided for each student, as well as other useful tools.

In a fluid, multi-national world, many clients do not have accurate birth times, a critical piece of information needed to accurately determine houses and the timing of events.

Primary Instructor: Carol Tebbs.
Intensive 10-week course

Even with a birth certificate, all birth times should be tested because of the wide disparity of recording around the world. Testing ensures that the ANGLES of the chart are confirmed by movement techniques that show the activation of the natal chart at dates of major life events. If they don't, the astrologer and client can determine if rectification of the birth time is needed and what is to be accomplished by the search. To rectify the chart, the client often needs to be asked for additional information about specific life turning points based on his or her memory, records, family, and/or friends.

Technology advances have created a global community for the 21st century, but there remains extreme disparity worldwide in the recording of birth times. Without birth time, we do not have houses for the planets or appropriate sign descriptors for the chart angles.

Primary Instructor: Carol Tebbs.
Intensive 5-week course

Most countries have not, and still do not, record birth time, making the 24-hour search for the correct chart ANGLES a necessity. Rectification puts your knowledge and skill of techniques that move the chart in time to work. This allows you to identify and test the most likely birth time. Even if you have no idea of the time of day a person was born, you can still use the dates of major life turning points to attempt to confirm the alignment of natal chart patterns to life events. If they do not, the client should provide additional information about specific life turning points and time range information from family sources.

How to Respond to Common Questions. Many who work with transits, progressions, directions or other methods of moving the chart in time find it difficult to synthesize all the different factors or choose the right tool to answer a specific question.

Subcategories

Most of our course offerings focus on the most common aspects of modern astrological practice. But there are additional unique traditions that have a different perspective and/or philosophical underpinning that astrologers incorporate into their practice. This includes Esoteric Astrology (originally developed by Alice Bailey or the Church of Light), Evolutionary Astrology (originally developed by Jeffrey Wolf Green and Steven Forrest), Uranian/Symmetrical Astrology (developed in the early 20th century), Astro*Carto*Graphy (developed by Jim Lewis) and  Astromapping, Hellenistic Astrology, Medieval Astrology and Indian Astrology.

This certificate requires 30 weeks from a range of courses focused on these traditions.

Astromapping is the art of using the astrological chart to determine a good place to live or even the best way to structure one's local environment (similar to Fung Shui).  Astro*Carto*Graphy is the art of using the natal chart to determine what areas of world support or challenge the natal planet positions. Local Space astrology uses the natal chart to interact with your local environment so that it supports who you are. Like Feng Shui, you can use these techniques even to the level of an individual room in your house.

The Astromapping certificate requires 20 weeks of instruction and includes the 10-week course WL220 Astro*Carto*Graphy, and two 5-week courses - WL221A Local Space and WL221B Astromapping Practicum.

Astrological counseling has unique features. This certificate requires 30 weeks of instruction. It provides students with a solid foundation of the considerations, issues, and ethics of astrological counseling and the ability to work with clients in the most common area of practice:

  • relationships,
  • one's own capacity for and style of giving and receiving love, and
  • the interactions of lovers, spouses, parents and children, and the family itself.

This certificate focuses on building skills for natal chart interpretation. The required courses provide students with the skills they need to successfully interpret a natal chart, an understanding of many of the types of tools they can use (and any controversies surrounding them) and a consideration of the ethical issues involved. It gives students a broad enough view that they can also understand the different approaches available for interpretation (such as traditional, modern, or evolutionary) so they can decide for themselves what direction interests them further.

The standard certificate (30 weeks) requires W101, W102, and W103. The extended certificate (40 weeks of instruction) requires the natal chart practicum, W104, which hones student's ability to work with common client questions (based on actual client charts and issues).

This certificate includes courses covering various methods of moving the chart in time, including techniques such as transits, progressions, solar arc directions, solar returns, planetary returns, profections, elections, rectification and more.

W110 and W111 are required for this certificate (20 weeks). Students can choose to take W112 and/or W113 (practicums focused on application) to fulfill the requirement of 30 weeks (the standard certificate) or 40 weeks (the extended certificate) of instruction.
