When you can’t travel to the best location ... bring the best location to you! Local space astrology is a piece of personal magic you can use to improve your living space.

Instructor: Tamaria McGillivray.
No textbook. Course materials will be supplied.

This course provides students with astrological tools that can enhance their life through exploring their personal local landscape. While Astro*Carto*Graphy examines the interaction of the natal chart and planetary lines of influence across the globe, local space astrology brings the focus close to home.

This course is designed for those who are curious about what astrologers do, or those who want to solidfy the astrological knowledge they have already gained on their own. The astrological chart will be taken apart in order for students to clearly understand how each set of symbols functions and how their interaction provides the basis of interpretation.

Instructors: Enid Newberg and Donna Young
10-week course

The objective of this course is to ensure students have learned the basics of astrological symbolism and be on their way to successfully synthesizing that knowledge to interpret a chart, even if there is no birth time. To accomplish this goal, the following areas will be covered:

This course adds tools to help students distinguish how the core components of a chart are modified for each individual. Students are encouraged to critically consider the various techniques through a discussion of their strengths and weaknesses as well as any controversies surrounding them. Guided practice each week in “Live Chat” refines the process of spotting major life themes in the natal chart.

Instructors: Carol Tebbs, Enid  Newberg
10-week course

The primary focus in this course is the practical application of what the student has learned. A good astrologer must not only know techniques but be able to reflect upon their own world view, assumptions and other personal filters. Students will also actively consider and discuss potential client issues and ethical considerations. In addition, students get guidance in how to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to delineation by examining how multiple astrologers approach chart interpretation.

Instructors: Karen McCauley and Inga Thornell.
10-week course

Students will be challenged to explore their own personal filters, attitudes, and beliefs as they develop their chart interpretation skills. They will actively consider and discuss potential client issues and ethical considerations. In addition, students get guidance on how to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to delineation by examining how multiple astrologers approach chart interpretation.

For many students, there is a large jump between knowing all the pieces and putting them together for a client. If you find synthesis a struggle, then this course is for you.  Students will focus on finding basic themes, answers, and interpretations using the natal chart to address client issues.

Instructors: Karen McCauley, Inga Thornell
10-week course

By the end of this course, students will increase confidence in their interpretation skills, be better able to identify major life issues and be able to focus on answering specific questions raised by clients.

This course covers major techniques for predicting major life circumstances to show the flowering of the natal chart promise.

Instructors: Carol Tebbs, Gloria Scigliano
10-week course

This is not an introductory course. Students are expected to have a working knowledge of the elements of natal chart interpretation and synthesis.

Students will work with techniques of Western astrology from the 16th century to the present; including Solar and Lunar Eclipses; Outer Planet Transit cycles and their timing role in the activation of the natal chart. Students will also work with the techniques of Solar Arc Directions, Secondary Progressions as well as the Progressed Moon and its 3 ½ year Lunar Phases.

In this course, students work with progressed declination and chart graphics; relocation and applying transits, progressions, and directions; interpreting Synodic Cycles of planetary pairs to the natal chart and mundane charts; Solar, Lunar and other Planetary Returns; adding Transits, Progressions and Directions of planets and angles to natal asteroids and Chiron; and use the graphic function of software to track movement of all planetary factors in the commonly used 12th and 8th  harmonics.

Instructor: Carol Tebbs
10-week course

W111 continues the examination of the development of modern Western interpretive movement methods based upon planetary cycles, natural phenomena and symbolic interpretive tools from the 16th to the 21st centuries.

In a fluid, multi-national world, many clients do not have birth times, a critical piece of information needed to accurately determine houses and the timing of events. Rectification puts your knowledge and skill with techniques that move the chart in time in order to identify the most likely birth time.

Primary Instructor: Carol Tebbs.
Intensive 10-week course

The astrologer and client determine when rectification of the birth time is needed and what is to be accomplished by the search. For an accurate birth time, the dates of major life turning points should confirm the alignment of natal chart patterns to life events. If they do not, the client should provide information of specific life turning points and time range information from family sources.

Subcategories

Most of our course offerings focus on the most common aspects of modern astrological practice. But there are additional unique traditions that have a different perspective and/or philosophical underpinning that astrologers incorporate into their practice. This includes Esoteric Astrology (originally developed by Alice Bailey or the Church of Light), Evolutionary Astrology (originally developed by Jeffrey Wolf Green and Steven Forrest), Uranian/Symmetrical Astrology (developed in the early 20th century), Astro*Carto*Graphy (developed by Jim Lewis) and  Astromapping, Hellenistic Astrology, Medieval Astrology and Indian Astrology.

This certificate requires 30 weeks from a range of courses focused on these traditions.

Astromapping is the art of using the astrological chart to determine a good place to live or even the best way to structure one's local environment (similar to Fung Shui).  Astro*Carto*Graphy is the art of using the natal chart to determine what areas of world support or challenge the natal planet positions. Local Space astrology uses the natal chart to interact with your local environment so that it supports who you are. Like Feng Shui, you can use these techniques even to the level of an individual room in your house.

The Astromapping certificate requires 20 weeks of instruction and includes the 10-week course WL220 Astro*Carto*Graphy, and two 5-week courses - WL221A Local Space and WL221B Astromapping Practicum.

Astrological counseling has unique features. This certificate requires 30 weeks of instruction. It provides students with a solid foundation of the considerations, issues, and ethics of astrological counseling and the ability to work with clients in the most common area of practice:

  • relationships,
  • one's own capacity for and style of giving and receiving love, and
  • the interactions of lovers, spouses, parents and children, and the family itself.

This certificate focuses on building skills for natal chart interpretation. The required courses provide students with the skills they need to successfully interpret a natal chart, an understanding of many of the types of tools they can use (and any controversies surrounding them) and a consideration of the ethical issues involved. It gives students a broad enough view that they can also understand the different approaches available for interpretation (such as traditional, modern, or evolutionary) so they can decide for themselves what direction interests them further.

The standard certificate (30 weeks) requires W101, W102, and W103. The extended certificate (40 weeks of instruction) requires the natal chart practicum, W104, which hones student's ability to work with common client questions (based on actual client charts and issues).

This certificate includes courses covering various methods of moving the chart in time, including techniques such as transits, progressions, solar arc directions, solar returns, planetary returns, profections, elections, rectification and more.

W110 and W111 are required for this certificate (20 weeks). Students can choose to take W112 and/or W113 (practicums focused on application) to fulfill the requirement of 30 weeks (the standard certificate) or 40 weeks (the extended certificate) of instruction.
