Immerse yourself in the magical, astrological world of Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa.
Presented April 30, 2016
According to Agrippa, astrology is the core of all magic and divination, and Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy is perhaps the most influential occult text written in the last six hundred years. In this webinar, Eric draws from his new translation of Three Books to show how Agrippa defines magic, reconstructing his argument that astrology influences nature, and, finally, that astrology functions as a primary tool for magic and gnosis. Eric will also illustrate some methods of Medieval and Renaissance astrological magic.
Eric Purdue is a traditional astrologer, astrological magician, and ordained priest in Lukumí, practicing and studying for over 25 years. He was been published in the first issue of The Ascendant, the journal of the Association of Young Astrologers, and his new translation from Latin of Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy will be published in 2016.
