Dwarf planet Ceres was discovered in 1801 but is only now starting to be integrated into the astrological hierarchy of importance. Often referred to as Dark Goddess, she shows up in our charts where some of our most raw wounds of abandonment and loss are presented. Associated with the Eleusinian Mysteries, Ceres (known to the Greeks as Demeter) represented some of the deepest challenges humans were exposed to. The journey into the underworld through the loss of her daughter and the recovery of identity and fertility after the loss is part of her storyline as she unfolds in our charts.
Through this lecture, we will look at some core principles related to her presence in the chart and explore how this particular myth with all its stages is easily associated to the challenge of the feminine nature of connection, attachment, and then death.
