Pluto represents the cutting edge of human development and a place of intense concentration, effort, and crisis. As the outermost of the three transpersonal planets, it describes the decisive context and boundary of our individual consciousness and evolutionary journey through life. As a generational planet, Pluto’s transit through the signs correlates with broad cultural shifts in politics, the arts, entertainment, technology, and social progress.

As Hades, the god of the underworld, Pluto can be understood as the collective and individual process of deep psychological transformation from one sign to the next. We’ll trace these progressions by examining the cultural movements and charts of Baby Boomers, Millennials, Generation X, and the currently ascending Generation Z with the hope of more fully understanding our present circumstances.
