The instructors in the Kepler educational program are known for their astrological knowledge and ability to teach in a challenging online program.

Arens Christine6Christine Arens is certified as both a Professional and Teaching astrologer through the AFA, and holds a Level-III certification through NCGR. She has over 40 years of experience in astrology and has been actively consulting and teaching since the early 1990s. She has served as the President of the Chicago-based Friends of Astrology since 1993, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of both the AFA and Kepler College.

Michael BartlettMichael Bartlett is a practicing Astrologer and Business Consultant who lives in Santa Fe, NM. Michael focuses on traditional and esoteric astrology while utilizing the skills he learned from Core Energetics. He utilizes this body-oriented process in concert with his highly intuitive nature, three decades of business experience and two decades of astrological experience and understanding. Michael has an extensively resourced toolbox to provide his students and clients with excellent guidance.

Crane Joseph 2016 100pxJoseph Crane, M.A. is a consulting astrologer, teacher, and author. He has conducted beginning astrology courses, training programs on astrological interpretation, and on counseling skills for astrologers. He has been involved with the Kepler College and Certificate Program since 2007. He also works 1:1 with those who wish to include astrology in their counseling work. Joseph is the author of A Practical Guide to Traditional Astrology (1997), Astrological Roots: The Hellenistic Legacy (2007) and Between Fortune and Providence: Astrology and the Universe in Dante’s Divine Comedy (2012). Senay YangelInstructor Senay Devi lives in Turkey. She received her professional education from the United States, UK and Turkey. She has taken courses and private tutoring from Gary Gomes, a Vedic astrologer and instructor at Kepler College. She also also completed Dirah. She has studied with a number of international teachers. including Turkish astrologer Yucel Sugen. She works with international students and continues her studies and research. Senay's areas of expertise include Western, Chinese, Vedic Astrology, and Esoteric. In 2007 she opened her website, astrodeha.com, and in 2008 founded the Center for Counseling astrodeha.

gomes gary 2019 100x100Gary Gomes began writing about Jyotisha in 1993, and has been published in the ACVA Journal, BAVA Journal, NCGR special editions, Mountain Astrologer, and several Indian magazines, including Express Star Teller and the Astrological eMagazine. He has also served as Editor and Managing Publisher of the Council of Vedic Astrology Journal. He served on the American College of Vedic Astrology Board between 1997 and 2003. He was elected Vice-President of the Council of Vedic Astrology in 2004 and President of CVA in 2007.

Cornelia Hansen Cornelia Hansen, MA in Early Childhood and in Clinical psychology. She is a Licensed MFCT (Marriage, Family, Child Therapist) and has been in practice for 17 years.

Cornelia has also been an astrologer for over 40 years. She was taught by Joan McEvers and Marion March. She was a teacher for LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District in the Early Childhood Center for 25 years. She also taught English, Psychology and Humanities in high school for 9 years. Cornelia wrote the Kidwheels column for Aspects Magazine on children’s charts for three years.

Hillis-Dineen, MadalynMadalyn Hillis-Dineen, C.A. NCGR, is a nationally-known astrologer. She began her study of astrology with the Uranian system in 1979 and has taught, lectured, and practiced Uranian (Symmetrical Astrology) techniques for more than 30 years. She is certified as a Consulting Astrologer by the National Council for Geocosmic Research and is a certified astro*carto*graphy interpreter.

Madalyn has written for a variety of publications, StarIQ.com, and is a contributor to the Llewellyn anthology, Astrology for Women: Roles and Relationships. Since August 1994, Madalyn has been the Marketing Director of Astrolabe, Inc., publishers of Solar Fire. Kimberly  Jones Kimberlee Jones is an entrepreneurial marketing professional and is Accredited in Public Relations (APR). She has 30+ years of experience in developing strategic approaches for meeting client goals and in hands-on tactical execution and is a skilled and sought-after copy and content writer. Kim currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Public Relations Society, Calgary chapter as the Accreditation portfolio Chair.

Martin Omari 150x150Omari Martin, MAFM, LPMAFA, NCGR-PAA I is a certified professional astrologer and a life member of the American Federation Astrologers (AFA), President of The Friends of Astrology, Inc., Treasurer of the Astrology News Service, and Chairman of the board for Kepler College. He has a Level I certification through the National Council of Geocosmic Research – Professional Astrologer’s Alliance. He is a life member of the Organization for Professional Astrology, a certified teacher with the Church of Light – Brotherhood of Light lessons, and a certified integrative NLP practitioner through the Association for Integrative Psychology.

His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting degree from Howard University and a Master of Accounting and Financial Management degree from Keller Graduate School of Management. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management specializing in Accounting at Capella University. Janet Mattiisen Janet Matiisen is an award-winning designer with 25+ years of experience in print and web design. She brings those years of creative direction and developing unique concepts to bear in her role as an instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology's Journalism Program. Her instruction includes WordPress, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

mccauleyKaren McCauley has an M.A. in Educational Psychology from UCLA and spent four years studying clinical psychology at California Graduate Institute. She was the Editor of ASPECTS Magazine, an astrology journal, from 1987-94. A long-time associate and friend of Joan McEvers and Marion March, she taught for Aquarius Workshops from 1976-1999 and has lectured for AW, OAA, NCGR and UAC. She has served on the AW Board, the AFAN Steering Committee and as Oregon Astrological Association Treasurer and President. Karen currently serves as Kepler’s Director of Student Services and the Director of the Certificate Program.

McGillivray Tamira

Tamira McGillivray holds a BA in East-West Traditions & Astrology (2007) through Kepler College. is NCGR Level III Certified, the Past President of the San Diego chapter of the National Council of Geocosmic Research (NCGR), and is a certified Astro*Carto*grapher with Continuum. She is currently not only an instructor at Kepler but is also the Vice-Chair on the Board of Trustees and Admin Team. She is currently a Masters Candidate at the University of Wales, Cultural Astronomy & Astrology.

Tamira has a Professional Astrological Practice dedicated to connecting ancient wisdom to the modern world through speaking engagements, workshops, one-on-one consultations.
As a Meditation teacher, Usui / Karuna® Reiki and Holy Fire® Master (1996-2019), she studied with Dolores Cannon as a PLR/Quantum Healing (QHHT) Practitioner Level II and RYT Yoga Teacher (Through Roots & Wings Yoga Studio Vista California), Tamira is dedicated to using a variety of methods and energy techniques to meet her client's individual needs, her website is navigatingthestars.ca. Awarded Jyotish Medha Shree from ICAS, Jyotish Kovid from CVA, and Levels I & II Certification from ACVA. Based in San Diego, he maintains a practice as a consulting astrologer. He is the author of Mars: Passion or Strife-The Confounding Influence of Culture on Astrology, and the forthcoming new translation/commentary of On the Bright Fixed Stars by Anon of 379 (with Andrea Gehrz).

Dr. Will MorrisDr. Will Morris, Ph.D., DAOM, MSEd, LAc. Will Morris is the principal of the MedAstro School of Medical Astrology. He has a Ph.D. focused upon clinical knowledge and a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine. As an astrologer, he chose to study humoral medicine and homeopathy in order to become a medical astrologer. With 36 years of experience as a clinician using astrology at the center of his practice, he brings a font of wisdom to the practice of medical astrology as a tool for improved clinical outcomes.

Enid Newberg

Enid Newberg, MA Whole Systems Design, discovered astrology in the 1970s when she went with friends to listen to a lecture by Dane Rudhyar. From that point on she was hooked. She particularly enjoys introducing students to the dynamic aliveness of an astrological chart. She is also fascinated by astrology's history and philosophy as well as its intersection with magic, culture, and spirituality.

Enid became involved in the dream of creating an academic college where astrology would be openly taught and joined the board of Kepler College in 1993. She was president when the college first opened in 2000 through 2001. In November 2004, she rejoined the administration and was president again from 2006 until 2019. She is still a member of the Board of Trustees and teaches a variety of astrological classes.

 

 

obert charles 100pxInstructor Charlie Obert is a student of astrology since high school, and has studied and practiced both modern and traditional astrology techniques. He teaches workshops and leads study groups on traditional astrology. Charlie is the author of An Introduction to Traditional Natal Astrology and Using Dignities in Astrology, which are currently being used as textbooks at Kepler College. His teachers included Dr. Benjamin Dykes and Chris Brennan.

Charlie's current focus is working on how traditional and modern astrologers can complement and learn from each other. He has a twice-monthly blog on astrology topics on his website at https://studentofastrology.com.

Ronngren Diane 100pxDiane Ronngren, C.A., Level IV, NCGR-PA has been a practicing professional astrologer and teacher for 30 years this year. Diane says, "I have had the privilege of learning from, working with, and sharing what I know with some of the best astrologers of our time, and I hope to continue doing so for many years to come!"

From the time she chose this career she has supported the astrological community as an active member of the NCGR, ISAR, AFAN and the AFA. Diane currently serves as VP of the San Diego Chapter of NCGR. She maintains a busy practice while teaching, writing, encouraging and mentoring others: clients, students and colleagues. Diane is the author of numerous articles, series, columns, booklets and books on astrological, metaphysical and motivational topics.

Gloria SciglianoInstructor Gloria Scigliano, has a BS Information Systems, San Francisco State University. Gloria's interest in astrology began in the early 1970s, after a difficult time led her to an astrologer for a five-minute-five-dollar reading. During the years of raising her children, Gloria worked in the software development field, eventually traveling all over the US and Canada teaching large corporations how to install and implement the company's financial software. There was little time for astrology, and there were so many laborious steps involved! Untold hours were spent dreaming of better designs for astrology systems. When Solar Fire came along, readings for family, friends, and then clients finally got serious.

scofield.jpgBruce Scofield, PhD University of Massachusetts; MS History of Science, Montclair University; BA, History, Rutgers University. Mr. Scofield has been a practicing astrologer since 1975 and has been a teacher and lecturer at many regional and national conferences over the last twenty years.

He has written many articles for various astrological publications and has published a number of important astrological texts, including Timing of Events: Electional Astrology; The Aztec Circle of Destiny; Native American Astrology from Ancient Mexico, and Signs of Time: An Introduction to Mesoamerican Astrology. Mr. Scofield recently received his PhD from the University of Massachusetts where he works on Gaia theory and solar system influences on climate and life. His PhD thesis examined temperature variations in the northern hemisphere correlated with Saturn-Sun geocentric alignments. Batya StarkBatya Stark began her study of astrology in Denver (1973) with Ruth Dewey and Joyce Wehrman. She has also studied Cosmobiology with Eleanor Kimmel and Psychological Astrology with Zip Dobyns. 

Batya has lectured at both national and international conferences and written books and magazine articles. She has lived in Israel, England and Korea and taught Hebrew and Jewish studies in Denver.  Currently she lives in the desert where she knits football sweaters for chickens and writes occasionally. 

Carol TebbsCarol A. Tebbs, MA. Carol Tebbs attended Whittier College earning both BA and MA degrees in English, and shortly after, an MEd in Education. She was President of Kepler College from 2003-2006. Her 38 years of teaching Advanced Placement English to students receiving university credits is combined with her extensive Leadership Team experience in a large urban school district. As three-time Accreditation Team Leader, Technology Grant Author, District Writing Program Coordinator, and District Mentor Teacher charged with training new teachers, Ms. Tebbs' experience and knowledge of the many facets of higher education complement her recent work with the College Board as a "writing assessment reader" and AP teacher trainer.

Thornell Inga 200pxInga Duncan Thornell graduated from Kepler College with a BA in East West Studies and a minor in Mythology. She continued her studies at the University of Wales, Trinity St. David in the Cultural Astronomy and Astrology program. 

She has returned to Kepler College as a Teaching Assistant in the Counseling and Relationships track. She also works with clients in a private coaching practice in Seattle, WA. Her interests include astrology, mythology and ritual.

Young donna 2019 200pxDonna Young is a professional astrologer based in central Alberta. Immersed in the astrology community at all levels, she lectures locally and internationally, and helps to organize a conference in Alberta on an annual basis. Her favourite thing is getting people excited about astrology, and holds hope that it will one day be understood and accepted broadly enough that it returns to its roots as an essential part of education. 

Certified as a peer group leader by the Organization for Professional Astrology, she serves on their board as Director of Publications and Canadian representative. She is a graduate of the Kepler College degree program and currently serves as Director of Operations. 

Kepler Instructors are chosen for their expertise in academic and astrological knowledge and for their ability to effectively teach what they know to others in an online environment.

They must be able to produce quality instructional materials that enhance learning by using multiple strategies and approaches. They need to understand how to work with students remotely, and to develop the trust and respect of their students and colleagues.

They also need to stay up-to-date on new developments and examine the interplay of the new and old. And they must be willing acknowledge their own biases so they can present their students with multiple perspectives.
